What a property request is
A property request is a short brief that explains what you are looking for. It helps eligible landlords and agents understand your needs before they send possible matches.
Use a request when browsing has not found the right home yet, or when you want hosts and agents to compare your requirements with their available listings.
Responses depend on available landlords, agents, listings, and subscriber coverage in your market. A request can improve discovery, but it does not guarantee a viewing, contact, or successful housing outcome.
Where to post a request
- Open `/tenant` and use `My Requests`.
- Or go directly to `/requests/my`.
- Use `/requests/new` to create a new request.
- Use `/requests/[id]` to view, pause, close, or review responses to your own request.
What to include
Location
Choose the city or area as clearly as you can. If you know neighbourhoods that work for you, include them in the requirements.
Example: "Lekki Phase 1, Ikate, or nearby areas with good road access."
Intent and property type
Choose whether you want to rent, buy, or book a shortlet. Select the property type that best fits your search, such as apartment, house, or shortlet.
Bedrooms and budget
Add a realistic bedroom range and budget range. If your budget has a hard limit, say so.
Example: "2 bedrooms, up to NGN 2m per year."
Timing
Mention when you need the property if timing matters.
Example: "Ready to move from August" or "shortlet for two weeks in July."
Must-haves
Use the requirements box for the details that would make or break a match:
- furnished or unfurnished
- parking
- good road access
- proximity to school, work, or transport
- estate security
- shortlet duration
- pet or family needs
Clear requests receive better matches because responders can see what matters before sending listings.
Draft vs published requests
- `Save draft` keeps the request private while you refine it.
- `Publish request` opens the request to eligible responders.
- `Pause request` hides an open request again.
- `Close request` ends the request when you no longer need matches.
What happens after posting
Eligible landlords and agents may see your published request and send matching listings through PropatyHub. Your request detail page shows responses when they arrive.
Responders can only send what they manage or are allowed to represent. You may receive no responses if the current market does not have suitable inventory or active responders.
Example request
"I need a 2-bedroom apartment in Lekki or nearby, budget up to NGN 2m per year, available from August. Parking and good road access preferred."
Privacy basics
- Other seekers cannot browse your private request list.
- Draft requests stay private.
- Published requests are visible to eligible responders.
- PropatyHub does not expose private contact details through the request response flow.
